One of the RPB’s goals is to serve URJ-affiliated congregations. To accomplish this goal, the RPB has developed services to assist congregations in the management of their professional staffs’ pension plan, life insurance and long-term disability insurance programs.
Legal and Administrative
Congregational leaders want to concentrate their efforts and resources on the issues that affect their congregations. The RPB helps make this possible by handling all of the government-mandated legal and administrative duties and fees related to managing participant retirement and insurance programs. Having the RPB assume the legal and administrative responsibilities allows the congregational leaders the time and resources to focus on other issues while having the peace of mind that their professionals’ pension and insurance benefit programs are being professionally managed.
Flexible Payment Schedule
The RPB understands that many congregations require financial flexibility to make their pension contributions. Pension contributions are invoiced at the beginning of each plan year (July 1st), and flexible payment arrangements can be made throughout the year through use of the Internet-based RPB Pension Tracking System.
Pension Tracking System
The RPB provides authorized congregational representatives with access to the RPB Pension Tracking System. This online system allows congregations to manage their RPB contributions on behalf of their staff members. Click here to review the RPB Pension Tracking System User Guide: PTS User Guide. To become an authorized RPB Pension Tracking System user, download the RPB PTS Authorized User List and submit the completed form to the RPB office for authorization.
Benefits of the Pension Tracking System include:
- The RPB Pension Tracking System is safe, secure and confidential
- Information can be entered directly online by authorized congregational representatives
- Congregational leaders have immediate access to all necessary information
- Payment schedules can be entered into the system, and one-time payments can be made at any time
- Payments can be made electronically using the ACH (Automated Clearing House) system
- Payment schedules and one-time payments can be easily changed up to one day prior to the transaction

Administrative Fees to Participants
There is no cost to congregations to participate in the RPB. Congregations only have to make the contributions for its RPB participants. The RPB is responsible for all of the legal, administrative and investment management for the Plan. Participants pay a fee of 25 basis points (0.25%), which covers a portion of the overall administrative expenses related to RPB operations. These charges are often lower than those of commercial plans. Investment returns are provided to participants net of all actual expenses.
Administrative Assistance to Congregations and Participants
The RPB knows its congregational and participant base and works closely with both groups to help with any questions or problems. Unlike typical commercial institutional investment firms, we maintain a personal relationship with our participants and congregations. We are easily reachable by phone or email and are glad to help. The RPB staff takes pride in providing excellent service to our participants and congregations.
